so it will be like dad is still there, just 'out' checking the cows or 'late' at work when I stop by.....not like he's never coming back.
Today at work I was thinking about if dad could contact me via Teresa The Long Island Medium....I started crying.

Thank you and God Bless to all veterans past and present who have served our country in times of war and peace, including the veterans in my family. Pictured is my Great Grandpa Ross Shafer, of Cainsville, MO, World War I soldier.
my dad named his son John Ross Axsom after his grandfathers Johnnie Turner Axsom and John William Ross Shafer.

today Katie & I pulled into the cemetery on the way home so I could take a picture of the stone my great grandparents purchased. My great grandfather Johnnie was originally buried here, but after Great Grandma Daisy moved to California, she had Grandpa moved out there. They gave the plot to my parents, but they have opted for cremation. This is a quiet little cemetery right off Highway 65, up on the hill. We had a picnic while we were there with our McDonalds takeout, I shared with Katie how I think I read how people in the old days would have a picnic in the cemetery on Decoration Day, then decorate their graves.
