Lena Ruth Austin, daughter of Virgil and Jessie (Toot) Shroyer, was born October 10, 1917, in Mercer, Missouri, and died at the age of 95 years, October 19, 2012, at Concordia Care Center, Concordia, Missouri.
Lena moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1975, from Long Beach, California, where she was an active member of the Children's Benefit League. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. She loved to play cards adn was an exellent Bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Merrill Austin; her parents; by one daughter, Sharon Louise; by sisters Wauneta Shroyer, Vera Nanning, Eva Alley, Margaret Logan and Betty Daily; and by brothers, Wesley Shroyer and Wayne Shroyer. She is survived by her son, Alan Austin of Ventura, California; one daughter, Gloria Clark (and son-in-law John) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; by her sister, Marie Dailey-Hass of Mercer, Missouri; cousin, Irene Johnson, of Santa Anna, California; and by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Bella Vista Cemetery, under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR. Online condolences may be made at www.funewralmation.com.

Elaine Graham celebrated her 95th birthday Sunday with a carry-in dinner at her home.
Those present were Phillip and Daniela Graham of Kansas City, Mo.; Phil and Joann Johnson of Princeton; Steve Johnson and Charlean and Matthew Johnson of St Joseph, Mo; Ed and Stephanie Wayda of Mission, Kan.; Philip, Annette, Cora, and Grace Johnson of Lenexa, Kan.; Zach, Lisa, Caden, and Hunter Gregory of Independence, Mo.; and Johny and Lorene Miller of Worland, Wyo. It was a wonderful day!
