Connie L. Axsom, 80, of Bloomington, formerly of Tucson, Arizona, died Tuesday afternoon at Monroe Hospital. Born February 11 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Lucille "Teedy" Moore.
She was a homemaker and a former member of the Senior Citizens Center in Tucson. She was a good cook and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Axsom of Bloomington; three sons, Leonard Lemming and Gary Lemming, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mark Mayfield of Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Donna Lemming of Black Canyon City, Arizona, and Deanna Mayfield Maxwell of Long Beach, California; five stepdaughters, Linda Axsom of Bloomington, Karen Axsom and Patricia Axsom, both of Bedford, Trina Axsom of Greensbug, and Lana Axsom of Columbus, Indiana; two stepsons, Donald Axsom and Troy Axsom, both of Bedford; one sister, Janelle Ween of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, seventeen step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lawrence "Butch" Lemming; and one grandson.
There will be no services or visitation held. It was her wish for her body to be cremated and the remains spread in the Pacific Ocean.
Day Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
