Nat'l Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution

was founded OCt 11 1890, objectives:
Historical, Educational, and Patriotic

more than 7000000 have joined the NSDAR since it was founded. there are now over 201000 members in chapters in all fifty states, District of Columbia, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, and France. The Nat'l Headquarters covers a city block a short distance from the White House.
these buildings are Memorial Continental Hall, Constitution Hall, The DAR Library, & The DAR Museum.

The DAR supports two schools in the Appalachina area: Tamassee DAR School in South Carolina, est. 1919 and Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Alabama, est. 1924
