62 Year Old Laredo Woman Dies At Home
Funeral services for Mrs Samuel Chrisman were held at the family home in Laredo, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Mrs A.H. Smith, wife of the pastor of the Laredo Baptist Church. Burial was in the Richardson cemetery east of Laredo.
Mrs Chrisman died Friday forenoon. A daughter of the late Wm. Brown and wife, she was born on a farm west of Laredo December 31, 1873. In July 1890 she married Mr Chrisman, and they had since resided in the Laredo community.
The survivors include three sons, Marion and Andrew of Laredo, and Ralph of Braymer; two daughters, Mrs William Boyers of Lindley, and Mrs Annie Shalley of Novinger, three brothers, George of Laredo, Frank of Gilman City, and Lewis of Ridgeway; and the husband, who is seriously ill with a heart ailment.

George Smith received a telegram last week announcing the death of his son, Everett L. Smith on October 19 of measles and pneumonia. Everett left July 25 with the boys who were called into service, going to Camp Funston. He was attached to Co. G. 11th Inf., Replacement, and when last heard from Sept 14 was at Camp Merritt, N.J. and was expecting to sail for "over there" soon. Everett L. Smith was born August 23 1895 near Eagleville and grew to manhood on his father's farm, and was a good, industrious boy. His mother died when he was 12 years old, and he being the oldest he helped his father to keep the family of three brothers and a sister together. He liked his work as a soldier and was liked by his comrades and officers. It is not as yet known where he died, whether on board ship or after his arrival overseas, but he is another one of our brave lads who have made the supreme sacrifice for their country, and to him is given the same honor as though he had met death on the battlefield.
He passed into the great beyond at the age of 23 years, 1 month, and 26 days, there to await the resurrection morn. To the bereaved father and three brothers, Granville, Byron, and Otis, we extend our sympathy.

DONALD E. LIERLEY SR, 34 of 2408 S. 16th St., was dead on arrival at Pawating Hospital Saturday at 2:20p.m.
A tool and die maker employed with Electro-Voice, Buchanan, he was born in Gilman City, Mo, March 23 1933. He moved here from there in 1947.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by a daughter Constance, and a son, Donald Jr., both at home; his parents, Mr and Mrs Jesse Lierley of Niles, and his grandparents, Mr and MRs Anderson Lierley of Gilman City, MO; a sister, Mrs Kahleen Sallack and a brother James, both of Niles.
A veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Buchanan Legion, 51.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2p.m. in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Allen of the Fulkerson Park Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.

GLEN A. FOSTER
On Saturday July 28 1934 at 8:30a.m. Glen A. son of Anderson and Etta Foster, aged 23 years, 2 months, and 7 days, was called home.
On Monday preceeding his death, Glen came home, sick with tonsilitis, developing into pneumonia and complications.
All was done that loving hands and physical aid could do, but God in his mercy said, "You have suffered enough, Glen, come Home," and he left us.
Glen was a loving son and brother and always had a smile and a greeting for everyone.
Near the end, he asked Brother Parr to lead in a word of prayer.
He leaves to mourn his departure, a loving mother and father, two sisters, Hazel and Blanche, two brothers Ward and Carl, an aged grandfather, three nieces and one nephew. Also a very dear friend, Miss Ruth White, who was away at the time of his sickness and death. Two sisters, Opal and Alma preceded him in death.
A loved one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home
Which can never be filled.
Pallbearers: Dale White, Basil Shepard, Ray Shepard, Cloyd Nickerson, Floyd Robertson, Harl Neff.

Estimates are made that between 2000 and 2500 persons were present Sunday at funeral services which were held at the Old Christian Union Church north of Gilman City for Glen Foster, 23, son of Mr and MRs Anderson Foster, who died the day before of pneumonia.
Mr Foster had been ill for six days. He was unmarried.
The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Parr.

Sherman Neill, 83, of Gilman City, MO. died Dec 7 1992 at a Liberty hospital. He was born August 2 1909 at Milan MO.
Sherman was a road maintenance operator for Adams Township and farmer before retirement. He held membership in the Christian Union church, Blue Ridge, MO.
On January 21 1937 (this is scratched out & 1933 is written in ink)he married Jennie Brown.
Survivors include his wife Jennie of the home; one brother Lyle Neill, Bethany; two sisters Gladys Lierley, Niles, MI, and Caroline Henderson, Independence MO.
Funeral services will be Thursday Dec 11 1992 2 p.m. at the Roberson-Polley Funeral Home, Bethany. Burial will be in the Christian Union Cemetery at Gilman City.
The family will receive friends after 7 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 9.

OLETA MAXWELL
GROVE-Oleta Maxwell, age 81 of Grove, died Thursday March 21 at St John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo after a long illness.
She was born on May 29 1914 at Leon, KS, the last of eight children of Fred and Gertrude Overstreet Tabing both of whom preceded her in death. She moved to Grove in 1969 and was a member of the Women of the Moose, Grand Lake Business and Professional Women, and a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Oleta married John Maxwell on Feb. 11 1978 in Grove. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Trudy Engstrand of Bel Air, Md; one son Edward G. Weyer of Wichita, Ks; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 in the Worley-Luginbuel Chapel with Marvin Tunnell officiating. The interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita, Ks at 1p.m. on Monday March 25. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.

OLETA MAXWELL
GROVE-Oleta Maxwell, age 81 of Grove, died Thursday March 21 at St John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo after a long illness.
