My gggrandmother was Anchor (Anker)Boyd, she was born in,Putnam Co., Indiana Oct.12, 1834 and Married Feb 14, 1850 to Ananias Landes. I have some old papers that say her mother and father were from Kentucky. Believe her mother's name may be Margaret Jane Taylor Boyd. Father, Unknown Boyd. They would have had to migrate to Indiana prior to 1834 and possibly from Fayette Co., Kentucky. There were Hillis' in Putnam Co.that married into the Landis family also. I would appreciate any light you might be able to shed on my brick wall! If you want anything on the Hillis' in Putnam Co., Indiana would be happy to exchange. Thanks. Linda E.

Great Work Barry!
Yes, yes, yes! This is the John and Polly that I sent you the 1850 census of...they don't mention this Theophilis.(43 KY)
The marriage date...from the papers I picked up in Putnam Co., IN has

Page 75, Manda E Boyd & Lewis H. Grimes Apr. 20, 1854.
Only I didn't know which Manda or Amanda!
You might want to check the genweb Wayne Co., IA site for Grimes and see if any Boyd's are there too. Appears Amanda didn't moved to IA until 1865-68, but some of her family may have preceeded her.
Wonderful! Linda

Was glad to hear from you. This is some of what I have. I can send you
more
on grandma Susie's family. But if you have some info on your family we
could
go ahead
and fill it out. Then send it to you. I have some info on Pete's dau.
also.
But we never have been able to locate William Boyd, Sanford's brother. I
know
he did live around Goshen, Mo. Then later someone said he ran a voice
studio
in Iowa where he taught. They said he was a real good singer. Pete's
daughter
is still living. She said that John and a small baby died when they were
coming to Missouri on a wagon train around Lebanon, Mo., but we haven't
been
able to locate this yet. Alfred, Pete's daughter said she remembered her
dad
going down there to see the graves. I also have info on
the Elliott's grandma Susie's family. Keep in touch and we can help each
other.
