p.253 Thomas Maxwell settled on Bluestone Creek in 1772.

"Thomas Witten" was the first white man to bring his family to Tazewell County, and to make permanent settler there, I wonder if Grandpa Thomas Witten Maxwell was named after him, Witten is somewhat of an unusual name---anyway, I thought that was interesting. (deb's note)
