The little daughters of Tom Maxwell have spent several days in the Israel Chaney home since their house burned.

The house of Tom Maxwell burned last Tuesday about 10'oclock. It caught from a defective flue. They lost most of the household goods and clothing. Grandfather Maxwell makes his home with his son Tom and has been confined to his bed for over 5 months. He is past 96 years old and when the house caught fire he was carried out on his bed and taken to the home of Ross Hobbs. Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell have moved into a house that was vacated by Vester Whitt.
