Q. When did the Creswell family go to Oklahoma
A. Sept. 16 1893
Josiah P.-Cosba Gilleland (Casba Creswell Gilleland) & family and Henry Maxwell came to Silverdale, Kansas in 1981 left Missouri OCt. 14 1891 got to Silverdale, Kansas Dec. 1891, came in 2 covered wagons and a tent. The horses almost give out, they lightened the load by throwing away part of the things. Griffie Creswell & Erastis Creswell and Emily Creswell, Johnie McGowen (Safronia Creswell McGowens boy) came in Sept. 1893 and stayed for the opening of the Cherokee Strop September 16 1893. Erastis got a claim he didn't like-went back to Missouri and later came back here, he was sick died here he is buried in the Newkirk Cemetery. Johnie McGowen, Made McGowen Harlen, Frank McGowen is buried there too.
Uncle Griffie Creswell-Aunt Ann Creswell are burried in Newkirk Cemetery.
my father-mother-Joe Guilleland-Cosba Crewell Gilleland & family, Lout, Cnythia, Effie, Shone, George, and my fathers father, James Gilleland-a sister, of fathers bothern, in the Oak Grove Cementry east of where (Umas?) us,
Clayton-Mary (Gilleland) Grigsba have an infant son Marion, burried in Oak Grove Cementry on a lot by hisself-they all have markers.
