Today is my grandpas first birthday in heaven. I miss him everyday, and I will always be his little girl. 💕

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Lisa posted this on facebook.
Happy birthday, Dad!!! Dad worked for years at Coon Manufacturing. I know it wasn't always fun, especially on hot, humid summer days in metal Morton Buildings. There were days he would come home drenched from sweet and completely wiped out. But he truly enjoyed his coworkers and being able to kick back and have fun at work. This picture is from one of his birthdays - they had him parade around the building on one of his Amish coworker's faithful steed. The goofy grin and sideways cap are totally dad!!

Vicki's Friday Flashback.....I love her posts on facebook....so full of history.....

Friday Flashback: This is a picture of my uncle Jesse Hudson with his namesake, my son, Jesse Doze on the left. Son Jared in the middle. Son David Doze sitting on his Great Grandfather Elmer C. Hudson's lap. Picture taken at our place in Colby, KS 1980. Elmer was the father of Jesse and my mother. He was 98 years old when he passed away! He had the honor of being the only living WWI Vet in Logan Co., Kansas! Uncle Jesse served with honor during WW II and in the Korean War, served his country for more than 22 years of service. His name sake, Jesse Doze served in the USMC and is Ret.; David served in the USAF and is presently serving in the Air National Guard along with his regular work. Four men who served their country well.

on our vacation......

we got gas at Casey's in Winona, MO....where my great grandparents Philip and Mary Alice Higdon retired to...and where I'm pretty sure they are buried, as well. We drove past a sign for Grove, OK, where my great uncle John Maxwell lived and my grandparents Brown took their camper and a grandkid or two to vacation at Grand Lake O' The Cherokees.

Lisa & Tom's 20th anniversary.....
