Today is Jim's birthday. He would have been 74. Taken to early. We had 23 years together. Going this weekend to open up the camper at Oak Tree RV Park.My sister is coming down to go with me. The camper is where I miss Jim the most as it was his love to camp. Whenever we met he had been camping couple of times in tent. We had two pop-up trailers and 3 travel trailers over the years. Have the 32ft Dutchman with two slide outs at Oak Tree. Our last purchase. Over the years we went to 5 state parks and every summer to Grove Grove, Okla. for a week. This was my two grandson favorite place to camp.I'm so glad we had the opportunity to leave these memories for grandsons.

Greetings Friends&Family, My beloved husband has been diagnosed w/GBM(glioblastima muliforme),this is a very aggressive stage 4 brain tumor. We have gone from"living the dream"to living a nightmare.Western medicine(Neurologists,Radiologists,&Oncologists)tell us he has approximately 4months to live if he doesn't do radiology&chemotherapy&if he does choose to toxify his body he might live another 2 years.Chris has ALREADY had brain surgery&had 1 of the masses removed, apparently they keep growing.......Our hope is to conquer this beast w/LOVE,prayers,CBD's,curcumin& all the above. To do this we will need a lot of support from our families&friends&community.I hope that some day they will use Chris as a case study in their clinical trials&be marveled at his miraculous sustainability w/GBM!I chose that crazy number as our goal because it's Chris's birthday, anything&everything will be a blessing.Chris has given a lot to our community,he is a passionate artist,a father of four brilliant children,a devoted husband,an honest friend,an insightful teacher,&a super funky fester!!!!!!Please help him Shine ON!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa Axsom Butler with Janet Axsom July 8, 2013 · Day 178 - Lunch at Culver's with the folks. Kind of caught them by surprise in this picture!!
I remember this day. Dad had fried chicken and said it was good. If you knew Dad, that was HIGH praise as the only non mom and pop restaurant food he cared for was Hardees.

What a night. Had tornado watch. Go I gather the cats and dog up and went downstairs. Was down in basement about 1/2 hour. Had 3 inches in the rain gauge and water in the laundry room again. Third time this year.At least no boxes got wet and had all set up off the floor. I couldn't tell where the water was coming from as had three sides of the room that water was standing on the floor?? So If ever quits raining have repairs to make. My sister came down from country and we went to ST Joseph to see our sister's grandson home on leave. He's in the army station at Ft Bragg. Had a real good visit. Whenever we left St Joseph we ran in into heavy rain. Got back to KC and no rain. So we was visiting and the wind came up, got dark and started raining. So Janet (my sister) took off for home. Before she got 1 block from the house the siren went off.And she was heading to Liberty to I-35. Heard tornado was sited. Look for her to come back, BUT she went on and made it home. Said she had to pull over as raining so hard couldn't see the road couple of times. Tried to get her to stay the night, but didn't have her medicine she needed. And it's still raining this morning!!! Need to trade my car in and get a boat.

The 4th of July brings memories of big family picnics at my family's farm with Grandma Grace & Aunt Minerva making homemade ice cream, Uncle Bob, Uncle Jim, Tom, & Grandpa Vernal running the grill, the city cousins riding dirt bikes & setting the barn on fire....and Grandpa's fireworks extravaganza

I used to target practice with Grandpa Brown, cant hit the side of a barn(if we still had one) anymore. Im not safe with a gun, gave them to John Axsom
and this comment on my bigfoot facebook post is something I do remember: Hope they are not afraid of fireworks. At Trenton last night, bunch of the fireworks literally shook the ground, you could hear dogs howling. Wart used to hide until they were over
he didn't like thunderstorms, either....
