So what's a mom to do when her son calls and is having a bad week then him and the driller ask if you would make them homemade Chocolate chip & walnut cookies to make it all better?... She makes cookies.. They'll be there Saturday!

Royals fans

I imagine these could be some of my hard scrabble ancestors....I know a lot of them had daily struggles. we weren't the Rockerfellers....

they lived through wars. the depression. plagues. epidemics. droughts. blizzards. floods. they left school at young ages to get jobs to help support their families. they married young. there was no birth control and childbirth could be deadly. and so could childhood. they traveled to fresh starts by foot, horseback, covered wagon, train, automobile. they milked cows. put in crops. gardened. canned. knit. quilted. worked from sunup to sundown and then some. they rejoiced. they mourned. and because they kept on keeping on, I am here.

Kent was teaching 8th grade classes, coaching and was acting grade school principal. This picture was taken around 1966 in front of the High School Building where I was graduated from. An arsonist burned the building down in the 70's or 80's.
