formerly of this vicinity said in part: "George Schaefer is still planting oats and I am draining rice land for the DeVore brothers, who finished combining their rice this week. Most people in this section have all of their rice out of the field now. Some are still planting oats, while others have oats up and looking nice. We have had no snow yet this season, but have had a big frost or two and there was ice a night or two. Weather is fine here for this time of year."
