When Cecil Dean Shafer of 2218 E. Eighteenth St. applied for renewal of his Iowa drivers license, he turned in one that had had used legally for more than 22 years.
He was in the military service since June, 1946, and Iowa law provides that drivers licenses remain valid until six months after honorable discharge from service.
