Truman Osburne, 19, was free on $500 bond Monday after being accused of poking his fist through an auto window in a reported attempt to strike his wife.
The $500 bond was set by Justice of the Peace Russell Edwards after Osburne pleaded innocent to a charge of malicious mischief at an arraignment Saturday night. Justice Edwards set a hearing on the charge for 7:30p.m. on Dec. 29.
Osburne was arrested by city police Saturday night at the request of Polk County Sheriff Thomas L. Reilly. The arrest was on the complaint of Mrs Francis Townsley, 300 Franklin ave.

Justice Edwards said Mrs Townsley complained that Osburne, driving a pick-up truck, followed her auto for some distance Saturday night.
When the Townsley car stopped for a traffic signal at E. Ninth street and University avenue, Justice Edward said, Osburne, jumped from his truck, ran upto the Townsley car, and leaped onto the motor hood to peer through the windshield.
He then jumped to the ground,Justice Edwards said, and pushed his fist through the glass in the car door.
Osburne's wife, who Mrs Townsley said is separated from Osburne, was a passenger in the Townsley car..
Osburne reportedly cut his fist on the window glass.
Accusation.
Osburne and his brother, Robert A. Osburne, were among four youths accused of terrorizing a West Des Moines family and chasing them from the downtown business district the night of Sept. 23.
The Osburne brothers were released from $1000 peace bonds levied in connection with the charge when the complaining witnesses failed to appear in court to press charges on Nov. 2.
In her complaint to Justice Edwards, Mrs. Townsley said Truman Osburne's present address is either 833 1/2 E. Fifth st. or 1304 Wade ave.
