Services for Robert Roy Palmer, 51, of Route 1, Pleasantville, formerly of Des Moines, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
Mr Palmer died Thursday at Collins Hospital of injuries suffered when he was thrown from a horse, then kicked by the animal.
He was born in Des Moines and had lived here until moving to Pleasantville four weeks ago. Employed as a truck driver wtih Brady Motorfrate Inc. he was a member of Teamsters Over-The-Road and City Transfer Local 147.
Survivorrs include his wife Coleen, two stepsons Michael Love and Charles Love at home, one son, Robert Palmer stationed in Vietnam, five daughters Barbara Jo, Ruth Jane and Georgia Mae at home, Mrs Sandra Van Veen of Indianola, and Virginia of Cedar Rapids, one brother, Lewis of Des Moines, two sisters Mrs Evelyn Bell and Mrs Georgia Mae Krithard, both of Des Moines, his stepmother Mrs Cora Palmer of Des Moines, and 12 grandchildren.
