Woman Hurt, Child Escapes

A young mother, holding her 3-week-old daughter in her arms, suffered head cuts Wednesday afternoon when she was thrown against the windshield of a car. The baby was not injured.
Mrs Louise Wright, 22, of 2329 E. Thirty-seventh court,was treated at Broadlawns General Hospital and released. Her daughter, Suzanne, also was released after examination.
Accident investigator Joe Williamson said Mrs Wright was riding in a car driven by her husband, William. williamson said the car collided head-on near S.E. Twenty-ninth and Maury streets with one driven by Helen D. Waltz, Winterset.
Williamson said Wright was going east on Maury and in turning a curve near S.E. Twenty-ninth he drove into the path of the other car.
Wright was given a summons for driving on the wrong side of the road, Williamson said.
