Dixie Lee Dailey, a 67-year-old resident of Mercer County, died on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.


Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, IA, with Pastor Jack Stark officiating, under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Lineville.
An open visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dailey was born on July 25, 1944 in Des Moines, the daughter of William Ervin “Bill” and Arlene Payne Lovell. She was raised and lived her early years in Des Moines, where she graduated from high school, and worked several years for the Younker’s Department Store. For the past 33 years, she has made her home in Mercer County, where she was a former employee of the Dollar General Store in Princeton.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed flowers and gardening and being with her family.
Mrs. Dailey is survived by her daughter, Billie Jo Heaton and her companion, Kevin McAninch of Princeton; her son, Kevin Heaton and his wife, Laurie of Hanford, CA; her parents, Bill and Arlene Lovell of Leon, IA; one brother, Ervin Lovell, of South Lineville; four sisters, Darla Murphy, and Sheryl Thompson and her husband, Ron, all of Mercer, Nancy Daughton of Leon and Joy Ferris and her husband, Wayne, of Easton, ME; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and other relatives and friends.
