John Campsey, son of Joseph and Mary (Campbell) Campsey was born in Washington County Penn. on Feb. 6 1823. He attended the common schools of his Native county until he reached the age of fifteen. When his parents moved to Morgan County Ohio. There he married Priscilla Nelson on Feb. 24 1842. In 1856 they moved to near Fairfield in Van Buren Co. Iowa. in 1871 they moved to Grundy County Mo. living there until his death on April 24 1881. Priscilla Nelson was born March 9 1819 in Mogan County Ohio. she died Aug 31 1899 in Grundy Co Mo. Both are buried in Rural Dale Cemetery near Trenton Mo.
4-first child-MARY JANE CAMPSEY born July 27 1843 in Ohio
1st marriage to Ben Penn they had a large family
2nd marriage to a Kinneman in Mo.
4-second child, ELIZA ANN CAMPSEYborn July 19 1845 in Ohi died Sept 11 1846 Ohio
4-third child, THOMAS RITCHIE CAMPSEYborn Feb 11 1847 in Ohio
died Oct 28 1848 in Ohio
4-fourth child, MARGARET CAMPSEYborn March 28 1850 in Ohio. died Feb 8 1923 in Brimson Mo. married MArch 30 1871 in Grundy County Mo. to Thomas Gregg, born in 1844 in Schuyler County Ill. He died Nov 20 1897 Brimson Mo.
