died Sept 20 1876. He married Nancy Ellen Bowling Jan 9 1848. She was born Jan 8 1829 and died July 22 1855. There were born to them George Albert, April 13 1850. He married Elizabeth Blount in 1872 and their children were Frank Otis, Roy and Mary Ellen who married William Jacobson; second child of Henry O. was Thomas Otis, born OCt. 6 1857 and died Jan 5 1859. Second marriage of Henry O. was to Loue Jane Chenoweth MArch 24 1859. She was born Feb 20 1833 adn died aug 2 1890. one child, Minnie H., was born to them. She married Stanley M. Haas, June 15 1898 and there were born to them Thornton Henry, Nov 3 1901. Martha L. July 12 1906, Stella Pauline Nov 22 1908, and Melvin B. born July 2 1913. Henry O. Bryant was county and circuit court clerk in Harrison co.Mo. during the civil war, Albert was a newspaper editor farther west. Mr. and Mrs. Haas live in Bethany Mo. Henry O. Bryant was & his descendants are among our best citizens.
James G. Bryant , brother of my wife's father, born Feb. 19 1829 and married Mary L Butcher June 20 1847. She was born July 6 1828. Twelve children were born to them , only three lived of whom lived to maturity. The living are Joe a. Bryant, born Feb. 18 1854 and married Jan 8 1877. His brother Jonathan D. Bryant born Jan. 24 1858 married OCt 24 1878. His siser Melissa, born Sept 30 1862 married William Howery Sept. 10 1886. I knew this family well and they were among Harrison co. Mo. best citizens. They were successful farmers when I knew them. Formerly they lived in Indiana. Dr. Bryant and family were relatives and formerly lived in Nodaway co. Mo. also a family of Bryant's near Independence Mo. and another near Newmarket, Mo. William Cullen Bryant, the noted editor and poet, was also a relative. Dr. William D. Bryant was my wife's uncle. He married Elizabeth and their children now living are Frank and cora, the latter married a Cain.
