The 45th Regiment Virginia Infantry was organized about May 20 1861 with ten companies, A to K. Company L was enlisted Sept. 3 1861, and served with the regiment until January 15 1862 when it was assigned to the 23d Battalion Virginia Infantry as Company C. the regiment was organized May 14 1862.
