Stanley A. Maple Stanley A. Maple, 84, 102A E. Monroe Ave., died at :45 a.m. Friday, July 30, 1999, at Jefferson County Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Visitation is today until 8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m., at Raymond Funeral Home. The casket will be closed. In lieu of flowers, memborials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society or the Iowa Lions Foundation. Members of Fairfield Lions Club will meet at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery to attend the service.

Mr. Maple was born March 17, 1915, in Brimson in Harrison County, Missouri, the son of Harley E. and Cora Stanley Maple. He married Margaret Lee Ballew May 3, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo. She died July 9, 1987.

Mr. Maple grew up in the Cainsville, Mo., community and graduated from Cainsville High School. He began his career with Hy-Vee as manager at Cainsville before becoming manager in Osceola. He transferred to the Fairfield Hy-Vee 46 years ago. He worked for Hy-Vee for 35 years before his retirement.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge and Walton Club. He was past president and longtime member of Fairfield Lions Club and the Howard Johnson Coffee Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Francis of West Des Moines and Sharon Morgan of Batavia; three sons, Rober Maple of Itasca, Ill., Jim Maple of Matteson, Ill., and Jeff Maple of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elaine Graham, Ileen Thomas and Kathleen Clegg, all of Cainsville.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joanna Bondurant.
