Vicki: wenty years ago on Oct. 24 and 25, 1997, Western Kansas experienced a snow blizzard that dumped 24 inches of snow on us with drifts as high as 8 ft. We were snowed in from the front and could only get out our back door because we had a 6 ft wood fence around the backyard that helped stop the drifting, but we still had all that snow in the back. This is a picture of me on the side of our house standing in the road. The other picture is of my late-husband trying to dig us out from the front, with neighbors yelling at him that he shouldn't be out there since he had just had 4 bypass heart surgery in April. He could be stubborn! I just played in the snow. The south side of the house had some good drifts to play in!

I am investigating the after effects of the blizzard. Then I started playing in the snow falling into drifts, etc. I used to love to do that and still would but... —
This is an enclosed front porch that I used for my garden room! It was the only way out of the front. Kent is trying to dig his way to the door while I played on the side of the house to the left. — in Brewster, Kansas.
