I have this blog. and I have gotten complaints over the years. so, certain people I no longer post much about.
definitely not stolen Facebook pictures. but, I am the amateur genealogist. not as gung ho as I once was. But, it does seem important to document. even if it's just half-assed. somewhere I have written documentation. need to add this baby girl in.
both their kids names start with K. can't fault them there, I have 3 kids who all start with K.

Daniel was a resident of Princeton, MO.
91, of Des Moines, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Karen Acres in Urbandale.
Marolynn was born November 28, 1926 in Mill Grove, MO, daughter of Charles A. and Erma M. (Dill) Hampshire. She received her education in Princeton, MO where she graduated high school. In January of 1944 she married Cecil Dean Shafer and they later divorced. She later married Gilbert Lawson and they made their home in Princeton before moving to Des Moines. After Gilbert’s death she married Dean Shafer for a second time and they made their home in Des Moines.
Marolynn was preceded in death by her parents and two children; Dona Lynn Hesseltine and Daniel Bruce Lawson.
She is survived by three children; Lavella “Janie” Breese of Waukee and William A. Lawson and Randall M. Lawson both of Des Moines, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday evening, July 27, 2018 at the Westover Funeral Home with burial the following day at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for a memorial to be directed later.

Dona Lynn Hesseltine, age 69, of Alamo, TX, went to her Lord on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX from complications of a stroke.
Dona was born on October 25, 1944 in Princeton, MO to Cecil Dean Shafer and Marolyn Donanell Shafer.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hesseltine of Alamo; daughter, Christina McNeley of Johnston; son, Richard Hesseltine of Norwalk; mother, M. Donanell Shafer of Waukee; sister, L. Janie (Arthur) Breese of Waukee and brothers, W. Albert (Kathy) Lawson and Randall Lawson both of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her son, Craig Hesseltine; her father, Dean Shafer and by a brother, Daniel (Diana) Lawson.
She worked as a nurse at Des Moines General Hospital for 15 years, then worked for the Health Insurance Office of the Iowa Laborers Union until she retired in 1999. She was also an award-winning professional musician in Iowa and Texas. After retirement, she worked with many charities, both volunteering and making and donating her hand-crafted articles. She attended the First Baptist Church of Alamo, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Iles Westover Chapel.
Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be directed to H.C.I Care Services in memory of Dona.
