Alice Heggie, 42, of 1229 E. Twelfth st. was in fair condition Saturday night at Mercy Hospital with injuries suffered in a beating early Saturday.
Police charged her former husband, Harry Heggie, jr., 38, who gave his address as 1320 E. Fourth ave, with assault with intent to commit great bodily injury.
The woman was beaten in her apartment about 3 a.m. Saturday with a 14-inch piece of car jack.
