Jacob Leonard Oxford

Jacob Leonard Oxford, son of William and Polly Zimmerman Oxford, was born north of Cainsville on January 2 1878 and passed away at the Axtell hospital in Princeton after a long illness, December 28 1955, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 26 days. He had resided in and near Cainsville all his life.
He was united in marriage to Stella Hamilton, and to this union were born two children, William Oxford of Saline, and Alma Boyd of Pomona, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, a brother robert Oxford, six sisters Isle Taff, Jane Newton, Suda Adams, Martha Purdun, Dell Oxford and Rose Shaffer.
His church affiliation is not known, but he attended the Fairview Christian Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great granchildren, and hosts of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Stoklasa Funeral home at 2p.m., Dec. 30 1955, the Rev Glenn Wilson officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs Helen Bauer and Mrs O.J. Hrdlicka, with Mrs Claud Phillips, accompanist. Burial was in Zoar cemetery. Grandsons acted as pallbearers.
