William L. Axsom, son of Alexander and Anna Moriah Dobson Axsom, was born in Brown county, indiana in the year 1878 and departed this life May 1 1955 at the age of 77 years, three months. He passed away at the home of his stepdaughter, Mrs Dorothy Shepard of Ridgeway.
Mr Axsom had been in failing health, but grew worse the last two weeks. He said he was ready any time the Lord called him.
He lived most of his life in Missouri except 14 years of his childhood which was spent in Indiana.
In 1939 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mollie Stevens. She only lived eight months after their marriage. He then was united in marriage to Mrs Rosa Bears.
Three brothers who preceded hm in death are Ora C. Axsom, Yuma, Colo., J.C. Axsom, Lebanon, South Dakota and Johnnie L. Axsom, Trenton,also his father and mother.
Those remaining to mourn his departure are his devoted wife, Rosa; one sister Mrs Etta Hughes, Cainsville; five stepchildren, Mrs Ethel Chambers, Mrs May Henry, Rary Craig, Mrs Dorothy Shepard, Mrs Fay Dyer; stepgranchildren, nieces, nephews, and a hot os friends.
He gave his heart and life to the Lord ten years ago and put his membership in the Cainsville Assembly of God church. He lived a faithful life until death. He loved to be in the worship services of the Lord, and will be missed by all.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 4, at 2 o'clock at the Cainsville Assembly of God church, the Rev. W.E. Lane officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs Clifford Ellsworth and Mrs Wayne Ellsworth, accompanied at the piano by Mrs W.E. Lane.
Pallbearers were Leland Parkhurst, Joe Meinecke, Aud Miller, Turner Austin, Walter Booth and Hurston Bears.
Burial was in Zoar cemetery with E.J. Stoklasa, funeral director in charge.

We wish to thank friends and neighbors for all kind deeds and sympathy extended us, to the singers for beautiful songs, and for the beautiful floral offerings, in our sorrow in the death of our husband and brother-Mrs William Axsom and Family, and Mrs Etta Hughes and Family.
