I have but one brother, David Nelson Foster,

aunt minerva collection
The Foster Family by W.T. Foster cont.

born in Daviess Co, Missouri June 3, 1845. Married Miss Malinda C., daughter of George W. Noah. Their oldest child was William R., born October 5, 1866 and married Louisa E. Hughes. December 16, 1891. to them were born and are now living William A., Essie R., and Alvin O. Brother D.N.'s other living children are Minnie M., Edward H., Mamie E., Addie C., Rosy E. Minnie married S.P.King and they have living: ARthur S., who married Goldie M. Switserband, Earl Byron, unmarried. See complete record in "Foster Family Scrap Book" deposited in St. Joseph Missouri Library. My siter Rachel Octavo, married S.P. Hornback, a good farmer and a good man. They have three daughters of whom I have no records. After Hornback died Octavo married R.F. Noah, a well-to-darmer and a splendid man.
I am leaving the history of my own family to be written by others. Heretofore Americans have not taken much interest in their ancestors but a great awakening to that subject is now beginning, and in the next hundred years our family will probably produce some one who will take up and continue the historical sketch where I leave it. I was not the first born. An older brother died young. Scientists claim that the first born are not so strong physically and mentally.
