a letter from Bertie to Minerva.

Dear Minerva,

I've been thinking of you-sorry to hear of Leland's death. As we both know, it is not easy to lose family members.

From what you wrote, Leland must have been very ill for quite some time. After being active all his years, I know his illness was not easy for him to live with day after day.

Thanks for your letter, church cemetery information and for the addresses.

Vernon is now in skilled nursing area of hospital and seems to be recovering from his leg operation. He told Lois his ulcer on his heel was getting better.

I'm going through my pictures & found these of that lovely quilt Eva & Aunt Gilly made. I can't remember if I ever sent you any of the pictures I took. Anyway want you to have these-will keep two or three for myself.

Heat is too much for me. We've had days & days of 95 to 98 degree days. Oh, me!
