my great great grandpa James C Maxwell, age 91year, 7 months, Harrison County MO.

he was a Civil War soldier, survived a POW camp, buried a young wife, and was widowed with 3 children. He married again to a Civil War widow, Harriett Hughes Harrison. I believe he was the one who started the Maxwell Century Farm near Brimson, MO (or maybe it was his Creswell in-laws?), and the first of his family to come to MO. He lived through many things to a ripe old age. He lived with his son Tom and daughter-in-law Gilly until his death, which happened not long after the family home burnt to the ground. I have memories from my aunt and grandma, they carried him out of the burning house on a feather mattress.
I hope most of this information is correct. haven't read thru the genealogy for a long time and my memory is not what it used to be....
