Obituary J.H. McMican

Mrs. Mary Higdon McMican accompanied by her son, Joseph Higdon, brought the body of Mr. McMican to Winona, Saturday afternoon for burial in the Winona Cemetery, where he was laid to rest near the grave of Mr. Higdon.
Mr. McMican was born in Mississippi Dec. 17, 1850. Died at Hunter, Mo. October 30, 1925. age 65 years, 10 months, and 13 days.
During his boyhood Mr. McMican moved to Kentucky and later came to Missouri where many years of his life were spent as a traveling salesman. His ideas were soberness, industry, honesty, clean language and Christian fellowship.
Ambil Jenkins, a daughter by former marriage, resided in Los Angeles, California.
Nov. 21, 1916, Mr. McMican united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Higdon of Winona, Mo., and for a number of years they have made their home at Hunter, Mo. where they made many friends who so kindly ministered unto them during the long illness and intense suffering of Mr. McMican from the painful malady that led to his death.
Mr. McMican was converted to Christianity at the age of twelve years; maintained his Christian faith through life; and approached the end believing that there was a home byond death when the pain of earth would give place to the eternal joy of heaven.
One is gone to share God's glory,
One is left to face earth's woes
And to tell to friends the wondrous story,
Of the Christ who always knows.
